My favorite addresses
2 weeks ago, I stopped by Amsterdam, one of my favorite cities in Europe for a week end. I took the opportunity to check out the special places the «Venice of the North » has to offer !
So here are some places that I highly recommend :
WHERE TO HAVE LUNCH :
PAUSE, the garden cafe at Hotel Pulitzer
This small café in the courtyard of the Hotel Pulitzer is like an oasis in the heart of Amsterdam. It is located under a sun lounge and extends to a large heated terrace, when the temperature requires. The place offers a real break alternative, and whether seated on one of the wide chairs on the terrace or under the glass roof with marble tables and emerald chairs, relax and enjoy one of the “à la carte” dishes. And I suggest you test the « Avocado Toast » it is both pretty and yummy.

The Lobby at Hotel V Nesplein
Another trendy spot in Amsterdam for lunch or brunch is The Lobby at Hotel V Nesplein. Located in one of the oldest streets of the city, you will be surprised by the huge chandelier at the entrance. Inside a 100% Amsterdam atmosphere awaits you with a flawless vintage decoration. As for the menu options, you will be spoiled with a choice of traditional flammekueches, eggs benedict, other local specialties or the famous latte with surprising designs… So trust your instincts, you should not be disappointed…

WHERE TO HAVE A DRINK :
W Lounge at W Amsterdam
Probably the most spectacular hotel in town, the only one with a huge rooftop pool and stunning 360° views of the city. I advise you to arrive at sunset and enjoy the evening in W Lounge. For this, book a table near the fireplace or close to the windows to enjoy the view. Of course you can sit out on the terrace or near the bar. The place offers a large selection of unique cocktails and excellent champagnes.
With good music, a trendy atmosphere, and ultra-contemporary design, it is the ideal place for a chic and magical experience !

WHERE TO HAVE DINNER :
The Lion Noir
This address will not leave you indifferent; whether for its design worthy of a museum that has earned the award of best restaurant interior design of the year, or for its French-inspired cuisine based on fresh local products. In the summer you can also enjoy the outdoor terrace.
On small personal suggestion, indulge yourself and try the 10 grams of caviar for only 19.50 € !
The 5 & 33
The 5 & 33 is part of the Art’Otel, and is facing Amsterdam Central Station. The place is huge and is divided into several areas : a trendy bar, a quiet and contemporary fireplace, a dining room but also a lobby area for drinks.
The cuisine is Italian and the restaurant has the particularity to offer dishes to share. You can choose from small plates or larger. So depending on the number of people, take the opportunity to test a maximum of dishes! They are excellent! Note that the chef is a woman and since the kitchen is exposed you can admire her talent and work, like you are attending a show !
The staff meanwhile was is attentionate.
