Pragser Wildsee is one of those outstanding places the world has to offer. It is one of the prides of the Dolomites. It actually was the main purpose of my visit in the area. It is best known as Lago di Braies, its italian original name. Its green-turquoise colored water makes it very unique and a real postcard landscape. And in the winter time, the snow in the surrounding mountains and trees gives it something even more particular. So if you want to make this hidden-place dream come true wait no more!
Once you have settled on one of the benches that border the lake, you will never want to leave. When admiring the beauty of the place, you can forget all your worries, it’s like the time is stopping for a moment and nothing matters anymore. Isn’t it tempting? You can also decide to go on a walk around the lake. Although the trails have an irregular structure and hiking (especially in winter) is perilous, it contributes widely to its charm!

It is a 5 star hotel which means you’ll have all the comfort and service needed. One thing is for certain: you will feel at home, and probably even better than at home! The rooms are pretty spacious and everything has been thought for every guest’s well-being.
After a short walk in the village you may want to lay back and head to the « world of saunas », a whole adult only floor with lots of saunas, steam rooms and of course a wide relaxation room. Or you may want to take some time by the heated pool and jacuzzi which is half indoor and outdoor, just pass the glass sliding door 🙂

Regarding gastronomy, I had a very pleasant surprise. If lunch is working on a self-service basis, for dinner and breakfast, you will have your specific table waiting for you and lots of choice. Yet my favorite moment probably was right before dinner when I had a drink by the fireplace on my first night. Felt like I was in my own cabin in the moutains.

How to get there?
Wherever you are coming from you probably will land in Innsbruck, Austria which is the closest airport. From there you will have to rent a car and spend about one hour and a half on the road. Why not take this moment to admire the beautiful mountains all around on the way?
